That depends on how the floats are being used.

My suggestion would be to find a fundamentally different approach to producing the attempted design that would not cause the text jog to be an issue. That would be a design-specific issue and the approach could vary.

It's possible I would use a table in this situation, if I can do so in a matter that fits my needs. This could include being cross-browser compatible, standards compliant (as far as syntax), printer-friendly, and accessible, etc. - again, depending on the design.
