As I recall, I had the same problem with HRs in IE, couldn't get them narrower than 2px or something like that. Actually this time I want the line to meet the colored div above it and have no white space in between and won't the HR force a space between?
The border idea should work fine but I just thought I remembered there being some trick to get the div to go down to 1px in IE.
