A friend has an image map that has certain hot spots that when pointed to, display some text and link to another page. This is done with javascript and sliced images.

I was thinking this can be done with a background image and some links which are positioned relative to the container. He wants it to be a sort of 'mystery-meat' navigation. You need to discover where the hotspots are. So they need to be invisible until you mouse over.

Can I get some ideas on the best way to do this?
