Yes it's still there for screen readers, but it is not visible :( I saw how they use images for text on sites such as opera.com and happycog.com. They put them as simple <img>....
Please, check my code. Rading about z-index on w3.org is pretty hard to me. Why Opera and Firefox put the text under the background, but not IE?
