Sam - I think there's a problem with floated & non-floated divs. If I take your CSS and float all elements in the left-hand column, it displays correctly (without adding the nonsense text).
Hopefully somebody else on this list can explain why, but my experience is to be careful with unfloated and floated elements - once I start floating, following elements get floated as well or all sorts of weird layout issues start happening. Hope this helps, Edith TerraNetwork Sam wrote: I have a site I'm working on: http://www.markcreeves.com/newpage/ It looks fine, but the odd thing was I had to add some nonsense text to #peoplebox to get it to display properly. Any idea why it would behave that way, and either a way to fix the problem, or just an all around different way to make the two divs side by side? ______________________________________________________________________ css-discuss [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.css-discuss.org/mailman/listinfo/css-d List wiki/FAQ -- http://css-discuss.incutio.com/ Supported by evolt.org -- http://www.evolt.org/help_support_evolt/
