That example has the same problem as the CSS Play version. It doesn't work in Opera, and even worse, if you click a picture in the middle of the thumbnails, and then scrolls over another picture while moving your pointer left, you get an unsightly flash as the hover of another thumbnail occurs, and then reverts back to the active picture when you stop hovering. To the average user who knows nothing about this technique, this looks really weird, as if someone did something wrong.
