Joanne, I have found PVII to offer excellent support of their products. Visit their support page at http://www.projectseven.com/support/index.htm and you will find information about their newsgroup discussion forums and other support options.
Some of the POP Menu Magic optional menus use images for backgrounds so it should not be too difficult to replace the "stock" background with your own image.
