Big John,
I didn't see any horizontal flicker on my page! Are you seeing this here, or
you've seen it on other sites? I came across it on two different sites a
couple days ago, but those were single, static images on a page. No
scrolling or multiple images. I didn't think of going in to see if a width,
height was called in the markup or the CSS though, so it didn't help me. If
I ever want to build a site that can annoy people, though, it might be good
to know how to recreate that effect :)-- maybe pair it up with some blinking
text!

Bill

That actually sounds like a reasonable theory! What puzzles me tho
is that I see this same kind of flickering going on in the horizontal
direction as well as the vertical, and often both at once. Could it be
the same scrolling effect working both ways? Hmmmm...

I can report that on the news sites I visit, it happens with some
regularity. I did manage to get Bill's site up on server as a test
page, and it's showing the flicker, so I'll be testing this scrolling
idea out right away. Should have done it months ago, oy.
