Yea, I wouldn't put that in my code either.

My comments usually mark structural stuff that's maybe not obvious:

<!-- BEGIN THIRD COLUMN HERE -->

But, I also tend to sign my pages at the very bottom with a quote of 
choice and stuff:

<!--- end content
       Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
       The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
       CSS, Coldfusion and SQL Database by
       Les Mizzell  --->

Something like that anyway...
