Good thinking...I did create a create a class just for that.

<div id="menuborder"></div>

#menuborder {
    position: absolute; top: 35px; left: 0; z-index: -10;
    width: 100%; height: 20px;
    border-bottom: solid 1px #4C7F80;
    background: #fff;
    display: none;
}

Obviously, not the ideal solution. I think I may experiment with nesting an
unordered list in a definition list next.

Another question: What's a good source to read about inheritance, how to
override it and browser quirks? Also is "padding: 0 0 0 9px;" ever treated
differently than "padding-top: 0; padding-right: 0; padding-bottom: 0;
padding-left: 9px;"  ?

Thanks,
~PJ
