We know it's related to the size of the "alt text", so I think it's safe to
say that it has to do with IE failing to get the file "on time", because IMO
it's the only reason why IE would "consider" the alt value when it comes to
render the page.
Also, I'd be curious to see if the same thing happens if that image was
higher up in the markup rather than at the very end of the document.
