Yes, but WebKit (the render engine IIRC) doesn't anti-alias 100%-size
images, so it's not about font smoothing here. On the body text,
however, it does apply.

Now, as I use Safari exclusively, I can tell you that it doesn't look
at all fuzzy. I can imagine why it would on a certain set-up, however:
that would mean the standard font smoothing wouldn't be right either,
and mister Test Person wouldn't be able to read anything on his OS.
Highly doubtful.

Some general tips: don't use 100% white (and if you can, no 100% black
either---that's not an option, I take it, so leave it). It's too
harsh. Make it a slightly softer white and increase the font size.
Will make it very pleasurable.
