Fixed it. For anyone having the same problem and playing along at home,
here's how I fixed it (courtesy of a PVII pack I purchased - Ennergi)
Added the following to my stylesheet:
.clearit {
clear: both;
height: 0;
line-height: 0;
font-size: 1px;
}
And added the following code just above the footer div
<br class="clearit">
