I'm fairly new to the list, would appreciate advice on how to get my style
sheet to work better with FireFox and Opera.  

The site address is http://www.power2u.org/ 

It looks good with IE, but when you view with the latest version of FireFox
there is a white border around the whole page.

Opera has a similar white border, and there is a small table in the top
right that has color bleeding out of it.

When I use the validation tool, it passes, but there are warnings like this:
# Line : 1 (Level : 1) You have no background-color with your color : a
# Line : 3 (Level : 1) You have no background-color with your color :
a:visited

Is this really that important?  I don't like the idea of having my links
colored?

My personal website (see below) has the same problems, as I modified the
same style sheet.
