thanks - looking quickly it looks like it's a fixed width layout that  
centers on the page - I see a fluid variation, but it places the  
sidebar on the left

I think I've got an acceptable solution setting percentages on both  
the main column and the sidebar and setting a min-width on the  
container based on ma.gnolia's layout.  I've never used min-width  
before so I'm sure I'll be back when I start looking at cross browser  
stuff  :)
