I have had luck using sIFR (Scalable Inman Flash Replacement) http://www.mikeindustries.com/blog/archive/2004/08/sifr
You can see it working here: http://siovizcenter.ucsd.edu/about.php The titles (in this case 'ABOUT THE CENTER') use this technique to get the nice font. There is text hidden behind it that browsers without Flash load.
