No problem in older Opera-versions either. I just tested in 7.54 and 8.5.

Well, that would be a problem if you don't have any other block-level
elements covering/containing that page-area. I didn't think of such a
scenario, since that usually isn't the case.

As for semantics: if it doesn't work, then it doesn't make sense anyway,
even if you probably have some browsers to blame for the failure :-)
