Hello all, I have been asked to code a newsletter template that will reside on a corporate intranet. I am in a quandary as to how to style this document because we will not have access to anything in the <head> where we could insert styles or a link to a stylesheet. All of our content will be poured into a predetermined section of the page. We could potentially use inline styles, but the content owner will be updating these files, and I see great potential for problems with inline styles getting deleted.
My question: I have seen CSS inside the <body> tag and it has seemed to work, although I realize it is not valid. Would it be totally off-the-charts funky to do that, and if so, are there any other ways around this problem? I thought about asking them to place a link to our stylesheet in their template, but I think they would not agree because of the potential for our styles to conflict with whatever they already have in place for the pages. Thanks for any thoughts.
