Hi Nick,
I've a dessert for you: I noticed an other IE-problem which needs a trick.
At scaling the IE-browser font-size to maximum, the page is dropping 
down to the bottom of the nav-sidebar (all resolutions).
Took my bug hunting shoes and found the #nav sidebar was growing too 
much: 3px extra. Looking like a 3px IE floating bug [1], but nope. 
Appears to be the word "Commentary:" which is too long. Knowing this, 
the solution is easy! :-)

PS:
The html-validator wants to see 5 img-alt's more.
The css-validator will prefer conditional comments for IE, instead of 
the // hacks.
