Me neither :-) ...and I usually only deal with the practical/visual side
of image-formats.

Image-formats are usually not a proper subject for discussion on css-d.
After all: it isn't a CSS related problem.

So, to avoid sending a lot of [off-topic] information to all

A jpg will display as a filled rectangle in all browsers.
