Can you move the image into the HTML? <img src="whatever.gif" style="position : fixed; bottom : 1%; right : 1%;" alt="" /> Perhaps raises semantic issues, and also doesn't address the problem of *why* the previous method doesn't work, which would continue to annoy me...
