Hi, I have recently started to work on changing some pages design from table-based to css-based.
I have started with the menu and made it a list - which works pretty well. When we translated the page to Hebrew, which means that the text direction changed to "right to left" all the lists became a mess. I have added dir="rtl" to the HTML tag, changed the definitions of margins, borders and floats from right to left and from left to right, but it displays wrong and I can't find what I did wrong. I don't want to go back to the table layout, and of course I need a solution (same HTML, different CSS) that works both for rtl and ltr. The page in English can be found at http://www.digi-tool.com:8881/diana/rd-pages/RD-eng.htm And the css file at http://www.digi-tool.com:8881/diana/rd-pages/RD-eng_files/rd.css The page in Hebrew can be found at http://www.digi-tool.com:8881/diana/rd-pages/RD-heb.htm And the css file at http://www.digi-tool.com:8881/diana/rd-pages/RD-heb_files/rd.css This is not a living system, so if you click on any link, it will just crash. Any help on this issue will be more than appreciated. The other question is not related to the rtl issue. I have two lines of menus, actually, the first line is the menu and there is a submenu for each option. We're currently working with separate lists, one for each line, but I would like to markup the page in a way that the second line is clearly a submenu of the selection on the first line, and just displays below it. The case of menu and submenu appears only in the Hebrew version of the page. I remember seeing examples of this somewhere, but I can't recall where. Any hint? Thanks in advance, Diana. -------------------------------------------------------- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by Ex Libris Ltd, and is believed to be clean. -------------------------------------------------------- ______________________________________________________________________ css-discuss [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.css-discuss.org/mailman/listinfo/css-d IE7b2 testing hub -- http://css-discuss.incutio.com/?page=IE7 List wiki/FAQ -- http://css-discuss.incutio.com/ Supported by evolt.org -- http://www.evolt.org/help_support_evolt/
