Sorry, no demo available yet: I have a straightforward two column design: 150px column floated right, and main content. Main content is a list, and each list item starts with a flash audio player which is floated right. Because some of the list items are short, each li needs to clear right. But clearing of course clears the right column leaving a large gap. Of course, clearing is only relative to a containing float, so I need to float the list (which has no defined width) But... regardless of whether I float the list right or left: IE does exactly what I want Opera collapses the float making the list narrow and leaving a lot of empty space. Mozilla makes it 100% wide and drops it beneath the right column. There must be a simple solution, but looming deadline is fuddling my brain.
