Do you slackers take weekends off? :)

I've literally spent all day trying various things to get my layout how I
envisioned. I've finally got it working fairly well.

The mockup:

The initial build-out:

This is in reference to the gray/orange on mouseover boxes. This is a
stylized ul list swapping out backgrounds and I'm wondering if this is the
best way to do this sort of interface. One of the problems I had was trying
to get the boxes centered, 4 to a row, with the 3rd row (1 box) being
centered. I ended up putting a classed <li> before that 9th box, which has
a left margin so it's basically spacing that 9th box over to give the
illusion of being centered. The background image (the horizontal and
vertical gray rules) was then manually edited for "centering" as well.

Is there a better way to do this?
