The declaration 'display: inline-block' was/is not valid CSS2.
However, CSS has moved on from then and it sure is valid CSS2.1.

Since the validator still defaults to CSS2, you'll have to follow
'Advanced Interface'... <http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator-uri>
...and select CSS version 2.1 there.

Your CSS is perfectly valid, as you can see here:
