That's great, but here's the real question: what are

I totally agree.  It's all about your audience.  We design mainly for 
musicians who tend to be early adopters and a little more 
technologically advanced as are their audiences.  According to our stats 
IE 5.X PC/Mac dropped below 1% around the beginning of the year so we 
stopped supporting it around then too (thank God!!!).  We haven't had a 
complaint since but don't have a problem telling our clients "dude, 
you/they need to upgrade". ;-)
