Perfectly put. Actually, I am debating that now with my co-workers (i.e. 
what level of browser support we want.)

Previous experience has taught me that IE 5.2 has not been that hard 
compensate for... but, I would not mind just feeding a style-free page 
(or minimal style) if I can get away with it.

Good reference. I actually tried implimenting some of the fixes/filters 
he mentions... but fixing one problem opened the door to more - I think 
you are right, start from scratch, choose a different approach, or not 
bother to support those browsers.
