Hi... I am new to this list and to CSS so I am 
not sure if my suggestion is even in the ball 
park.

It does seem to me though, that you could use 
"white-space:pre;" and then make whatever extra 
spaces you want in the content in the code 
window. It should follow your spacing and layout 
exactly.
