I think i have it narrowed down to a right floated <h5> with the following
properties:

float: right;
margin: -1.33em 3px 0 0;
padding: 0;
color: #667;
background: #fff;
font-size: 10px;
font-weight: normal;
font-style: italic;
}
-- if I remove it, the page renders fin in IE7.
