Thanks David and Devon.

I should have checked all this out first; I didn't think to because  
the page did validated before adding the script from a third party  
(Dynamic Drive), which foolishly I just assumed that it would be valid 
—silly I know, and good lesson learnt.

I don't know enough about javascript to get this effect, so I'm  
reliant upon third party scripts. I'm a bit caught now, but then,  
this is not really a matter for this list, I guess. If anyone has got  
any suggestions off-list, I'd really appreciate it.
