Ok, I see. It looks like FF and IE handle anchored images differently.
The spec leaves the implementation up to the browser and It looks like
FF's implementation is applying the anchor's color to the image's
border. IE, however will only apply border-color to the image's border
and only if you specify "a:hover img". So, give this a try:
/* set a 3px grey border around thumb images, this eliminates the blue
border in IE */
#textthumb img {
border: 3px solid #999;
}
/* On an img inside a hovered anchor, set the border-color red, this
works in both browsers */
a:hover img {
border-color: #CC0000;
}
You'll need to provide similar selectors for :visited and :link and
you'll need to widen #thumbpics and #thumbpicsright by 6 pixels to
allow for the border.
