Hmm. I must be missing something as I just don't see it-- but then I'm 
half blind... Unless you are talking about the dotted bounding box focus 
indicator? But that's a usability feature that does not add space. Were 
Firefox is really doing a number on your layout is at  +2  font-zoom :-) .
