The simplest solution seems to be to add...
#mainbody {clear: both;}
...to prevent elements inside mainbody from getting "hooked up" on
elements inside the header when some degree of font-resizing is applied.
There will of course be some overflow/overlapping, since not all
elements are styled to adjust with text-size.
