Hi carm,
Welcome to the list; there's great help to be got here! But Yikes, carm,
that's a lot of words in your questions :-). I'm a visual guy and -- like
most on this list -- can be much more helpful if I have a link to the page
and the stylesheet. Then I can see what you're trying to do, and usually the
problem you're having, too. (I often don't know how to fix it, but that's
another story!)
I have to admit, I got lost in your description of what you had and what you
wanted to do. But given all the elements you're trying to glue together, the
first thing I would try -- as a relative newby to full on css design -- is
to wrap all of that stuff in a container, let's call it #wrapper, and then
apply:
#wrapper {
margin: 0 auto;
}
To it. You might need to throw a few other things in there to accommodate
some other browsers but that might get you started. I'd still love to see a
link if you have one though!
Bill
