Some very subjective thoughts: Sites that are not centered always do a number on me. I start tilting a bit if you know what I mean. I love color. But too much behind content text it is sometimes problematic for those of us who enjoy reading. And since I am at 1280 most of the time, my own personal preference would be to switch the font-sizes for the vertical nav with the content text font-size. In other words, your navigation seems more important and easier to read than your content. Best, ~dL
