Then you got into the wrong field; C, C++, C# or Java are what you're looking for :-) Those languages will allow you to enforce your own notions about any computable problem (assuming you don't plan to use an existing GUI framework such as Win32, .NET WinForms, Aqua or Swing), but working in the browser, it's the browser whose notions get enforced. Opera has a minimum font size enabled by default, so playing with 1px text is never going to work with the default settings in that browser. This is why most people recommend using other techniques.
