I use the body for the footer background. Still a lot more could be done with code. I chose to use HTML strict DTD too... I used to use XHTML, but had an XHTML guru convince me to switch. HTML strict is more proper if serving text/html content. Just FYI. Also, do a google search for "YUI fonts" and "YUI resets." Good luck!
