Hi List

Have rewritten a fixed design to be more fluid and therefore to be more
cross browser friendly. The layout was the easy part but there are a few
images which in standard format would not be fluid.

I was looking at meyerweb.com where the masthead changes its size depending
on resolution. As it is done by Eric, I have to assume that it is a CSS
solution. Also, the varying sizes do not appear to be determined by ems
which would have an effect on sharpness of the image.

I note that this is done by using a background image. So how is it done and
does it have to be a background image?

Ian
