Thank you to Michael McEwen, Andrea Black, and Fora.

I managed to get things positioned roughly the way I
would like and displaying reasonably correctly in
Firefox 2, IE7, Opera 9, and Safari for PC.

However, as Andrea and myself have both noted, it does
not seem to be displaying correctly in IE6.
Specifically, mousing over the thumbnails does not
produce anything in the "full image" area or the
"description" area, unlike in the other browsers.

Current test code is located at:
http://www.lostinxlation.net/sandbox2/gallery1a.html

And current test CSS is located at:
http://www.lostinxlation.net/sandbox2/css/primary.css
(look near the bottom of the file for the styles
applicable to the gallery)

And, again, this is based from Dynamic Drive's
example:
http://www.dynamicdrive.com/style/csslibrary/item/css-image-gallery/
which states that it works in IE6+.

Any thoughts on what may be causing the lack of
display in IE6? Is this an issue of needing
positioning overrides for IE6?

Thank you to all who have assisted so far, and in
advance to everyone for your time and attention.
