Hi, folks!

I'm working up a template site you can see here: http://
www.rchseaglesnest.org/new

The "Feature" tab on the left side of the page is new for me. Rather
than cheat and include it as part of the header graphic, I decided to
try making it float over top of the layout and have live type
(instead of graphic) in it.

I'm using the "sliding door" technique for the first time, and have
some questions, if anyone has a minute to answer them:

(1) Functionally, the tab is there only as an attention-grabber, to
break up the grid a little. I'm using the "link on top of a list
element" structure from A List Apart, though, so it's not quite what
you'd call semantically marked-up, I guess. Is there another way to
achieve this effect without making a list of one element?

(2) Try as I might, I can't get the left edge of the tab clear of the
rounded-corner edge (if you look closely, you can see the straight
edge poking out on the left side). I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
If I add a margin to the left side of the li, it just seems to shove
the whole thing over, and padding, of course, doesn't affect the
background...

The page's stylesheet is at http://www.rchseaglesnest.org/new/
style.css -- the section for the tab is marked with a comment, about
half-way down.

Thanks for any help!
Jeff.
