Purely as a viewer, no way as an expert...

I really detest horizontal scrolling. "So get a wider monitor!" ;-)
But it appears that you have tried to avoid that with an 800 pixel
image. Unfortunately, that image, in the "header" div, is inside the
"container" div which has 10 px padding, on all sides. I think that
makes for a 820 pizel, "no-horizontal-scrolling" default?

I'd like to see some comments about "overflow:hidden;" in #container,
which I assume is an attempt to further prevent those scroll bars.
However, FF 2.0.4 doesn't seem to handle things that way. Oops, I now
see that "html #container" reverts to "overflow:visible;". Is the "*"
supposed to prevent newer browsers from seeing that new definition?
Hey, I told you I'm just an inquisitive viewer, not any kind of CSS
expert.

Thanks for letting me ask a question in your post, Kevin! :-)
