I have cleaned up the code and it now validates. 
'left: 0' pushes all of the pop-ups to the left.  They
no longer appear over the word.

I don't know why, but it didn't work.

When I use this code, the page doesn't center.  When I
use 'position: center' , the menu won't stick to the
rest of the content.  

One more question,  I can't get the blue link around
the picture to leave.  I've tried everything I know.  

Thank you for your help.  This is becoming
frustrating.  Tables are looking very good at this moment.
