Soon FF3 will be out. As far as I know it will support the 
display:inline-block property.
Opera and Safari already support it, and IE6 and IE7 support it partially 
with a relatively simply workaround.
So, should we abandon the "search" for the holy grail for multi-column 
layout's and start using inline-block or do you think there are more major 
downsides to this approach then to floating divs, huge paddings and negative 
margins?
I am asking because I am seriously contemplating altering my basic design 
concept.
