i looked at:

don't like the workaround for IE;

don't like how busy the DIV structure is;
looked at this: http://www.ejeliot.com/blog/61 but my columns have varying
widths so i dn't like the background-image method;
looked at this:

it doesn't work in IE;
don't like the various javascript methods, e.g.

I'M TRYING THIS RIGHT NOW: http://2columns.net/ i like it but i need to
adapt it for 3 columns.
