Hi all. I have a recurring problem only with IE6, where the page is required to display a large image with a border. Unfortunately, the fault is intermittent. What sometimes happens is that the image is displayed very 'squashed' both vertically and horizontally and looks distorted. Sometimes refreshing the browser will correct the problem, other times it takes several refreshes and other times it refuses to comply. It's not just my stand-alone IE6 as my client reports the problem as well. Also, the problem is most apparent online and rarely occurs with my local files. It may not be my CSS, but if it is, I'd obviously like to correct it. The live site can be found at: <www.northpiertheatreblackpool.co.uk> select any of the 'Shows' pages - the home page has never given trouble. The CSS is at: <www.northpiertheatreblackpool.co.uk/scripts/stylesheet.css> and there's another <www.northpiertheatreblackpool.co.uk/scripts/styleie6.css> but that one does not affect anything to do with image sizing on IE6.
Please ignore the non-working pop-up/down 'The Shows' hover menu in IE6. I'm going to totally re-write it to work properly and to allow the pages to validate. I have another problem with the same pages in Firefox, Opera and Safari where box height (auto) seems to be ignored. #main is the main content box with an all-round border and a min-height of 700px. When content exceeds that height in IE6/7 the box expands and the borders re-draw to compensate, pushing the bottom nav-bar down as I intended. Unfortunately, with the other browsers, depending on the content, mostly content that exceeds a height of 700px just drops out of the bottom and covers the bottom border and nav-bar. I'm sure I've missed something, but after an absolute deadline race to get the site live before launch, my brain hurts. :-) Regards, Alan. www.theatreorgans.co.uk www.virtualtheatreorgans.com Admin: ConnArtistes, UKShopsmiths, 2nd Touch & A-P groups Shopsmith 520 + bits Flatulus Antiquitus ______________________________________________________________________ css-discuss [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.css-discuss.org/mailman/listinfo/css-d List wiki/FAQ -- http://css-discuss.incutio.com/ List policies -- http://css-discuss.org/policies.html Supported by evolt.org -- http://www.evolt.org/help_support_evolt/
