As I tried to explain in my many off-list posts, you must start to look at  
the problem again.
Your problems are far from fixed, in fact they are increasing in spite of  
the fact that you think the page displays correctly. This is more like  
throwing confetti, if you throw enough, some will stick in the right place.

Both your XHTML and your CSS are increasing for very little result.  
Without altering your XHTML, I reduced your CSS from around 196 lines of  
code, to 80 lines by removing redundant rules.
With the XHTML created correctly in the first place, the code for your CSS  
would reduce even more dramatically.

Your CSS declarations must fight amongst themselves before they get to the  
page.
