I see it as an "end-user selectable MSIE feature" and not as a bug or an
error, so I've never bothered to "fix" it. It may be annoying, but it
doesn't make designs fail in any way.

In my book: if end-users don't know how to set preferences in their own
browser so it works for them, or deliberately set them so their browser
works badly, then there's nothing I can or will do other than to tell
those who ask what they can do about it - at their end.

End-users can make any browser work what I would call "badly", and all I
can and will do at my end is to test and assure that my creations at
least "work" reasonably well - can be accessed and used - under as many
end-user selectable conditions as possible.
