Sounds reasonable :-) ... and as observed. Case solved.

Note to self and others: check such cases with script-support turned off
in IE.

Someone should take that script "home" and clean it up a bit.

A png may not need transparency-filters to get around older IE's lack of
native support for png-transparency, because it may...

1: be an 8 bit png.
2: not have transparent parts.
3: end up in an IE-version that supports png-transparency natively.

Solution for the Original Poster: get another filter, *and* test that it
works as intended - without negative side-effects.

General advice: read responses twice (or more) and in their entirety,
before even considering repeating the same question. Will help reduce
noise on public lists and in local mail-boxes.

I'll stop adding noise - for now ;-)
