that second block has one ul too much :-)

it should be
#suckerfishnav li ul li.current_page_item,
#suckerfishnav li ul  li.current_page_parent,
#suckerfishnav li ul li.current_page_ancestor {
   background:#e4e7f3;  }

You probably even can simplify to
#suckerfishnav li li.current_page_item,
or
#suckerfishnav ul li.current_page_item,
