I'm trying to give my client what he wants and that is to have the site scale
up (similar to the way Flash size can resize)  to fit his large monitor.
Screen size 20 1/2 x 13 1/2 set at 1920 x 1200 resolution. It's a gallery of
his work, so no long text lines to worry about. I'm using percentages on all of
the components. Works in Firefox 3.0.10, but making the thumbnails scale
properly is a problem in Safari 3.2 and 4.0. They are stretching vertically to
fill up the thumbnail containers overall height.

The same problem and other problems exist in IE 6 and IE 7, but IE 8 seems to
be working the same as Firefox.

Question 1: Is there a way to get Safari to obey the height: 27% declaration
that I put in the CSS?

Question 2: IE6 is displaying the large image in the right column very small.
It doesn't like the width declared (in the javascript) as a percentage, but
works when I call out the width in pixels.

Question 3: My monitor is only 19" wide, so I'm testing this by using 'zoom' in
Firefox and also by using Resize in the developers toolbar. Is zoom a proper
way to test the fluidity of the site? Are there other methods to emulate a
large monitor?

Open to any and all suggestions. I just want to get this template finished,
browser happy and client approved, so I can plug in the images.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
